Champlain Nautical Adventures
We can arrange private sailing events, itineraries, ports of call and accomodations in both Vermont & New York!
Westport Marina ~ Westport, NY
What to Bring: The most important thing to remember is safety & comfort. Realizing that safety is not a compromise everyone can agree that when it comes to comfort we all have our own idea of what that implies, and rightly so. Always remember when "Day Sailing", less is best. The following is a suggested list of what to bring aboard for a day out on Lake Champlain.
- Light weight jacket or sweater.
- Old tennis shoes or water shoes, absolutely no flip flops, thongs, street shoes or sandals. Keeping you feet protected and comfortable is top priority.
- At least 1 towel per person, we recommend 2 per person.
- Hat or Cap, sunglasses and sun block. Protect your head, eyes & skin. Remember to apply sun block at least 1/2 hour before exposure and it doesn't have to be a sunny day toget a sun burn.
- Swim suit. Even if you think you won't go swimming chances are you might and it's better to have it an not need it than want it and not have it.
- If you want to fish you need fishing gear & a valid VT or NY state fishing license.
We provide adult average size Coast Guard approved life vests for every passenger. We do not provide costum adult sized or children sized life vests, you must bring your own. We do not allow passage for children 6 years of age or younger. Mandatory by law is every child 12 years of age and under wears a life vest at all times while on board, no exceptions! Also anyone who is afraid of or being surrounded by water is not a good candidate for this type of excursion and should never be pressured to participate by others.
